  • Weather in spring is unpredictable and changeable. During one day we can see all types of weather: First, the sun is shining, then it is raining and finally it is snowing or hailing.
  • At this time, we celebrate the biggest Christian holiday EASTER.

SUMMER

Summer begins on (the) 21st (of) June. Everybody is interested in the weather because people set off on their journeys and take holidays. Schoolchildren love this season because they have two months‘ holiday ahead.

  • The temperature rises to 25 degrees above zero or more.
  • The days are very long and nights very short.

The summer time is also time for:

  • strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, red and blackcurrants, mushrooms (we pick up mushrooms at the end of August)

WEATHER IN SUMMER

  • In the morning, there is often dew. The sky is clear and bright. No wind blows, and sometimes we suffer from a heatwave. It is boiling. There can also be mist.
  • In summer after the hot days, summer storm with lightning, strong wind, and heavy downpour often comes. It sometimes hails too, but after that, the sky clears up, and the air is fresh again.

  • Grass turns yellow and gets dry.
  • We admire the colours of leafy trees in the woods.
  • Bird flocks set off on the journey to the south.

WEATHER IN AUTUMN

  • The sky is cloudy, and overcast, thick fog.
  • The temperature goes down, and it becomes chilly, wet and rainy.
  • It can drizzle, and the first frosts come.
  • The gale that can damage trees appears too.

WINTER

According to the calendar, winter comes on (the) 21 st (of) December but in fact it often
begins earlier.

  • The days are very short and nights are very long.
  • Nature is sleeping, and everything is covered with snow.
  • The temperature sometimes drops to 20°C below zero.
  • The roads become icy and slippery.

  • Snowfall, icy wind, icicles from the roofs, hard frosts and a lot of snow.
  • Slush is on the roads.
