St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on 17 th March. It is a cultural and religious holiday. The most
significant Irish holiday also spread into the USA. This holiday is named after Saint Patrick – the Irish Patron who brought Christianity to Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day is now celebrated by many people throughout the world, Irish and non-Irish alike, with food, drink, and all things green. People are dressed in green, drink Guinness, and have fun. There are colorful parades in towns and cities. My mum always prepares traditional Irish food such as Shepherd’s Pie, bangers and mash, potato bread and black pudding, bacon, and cabbage. Yummy!
